E C Tecktonius

Emil C Tecktonius invented agricultural implements selling the rights to other companies in the 1880s. Prominent names include the Michell-Lewis Motor Company and the Racine Malleable & Wr ought Iron Company. He began manufacturing a fastener in his home workshop in 1891. The E C Tecktonius Manufacturing Company was incorporated in 1903 or 1904. By 1915, Emil was selling complete hardware kits for silos. A lumber dealer could sell a farmer the wood and include a hardware kit that included everything for a complete silo. The kits also worked for concrete. Emil retired in 1916 at which time his son Frederick assumed control.
