General Machine Products manufacturers equipment used in the communications industry. George M Pfundt opened a machine shop in Philadelphia in 1936. One of his customers was the local Bell Telephone Company. His customer base soon expanded to include the entire Bell network. A catalog was published featuring almost any tool needed by a utility lineman.
The company was acquired by Klein Tools in 2017 when it became GMP products.
