Hewet Union Wrench

The Hewit Union adjustable wrench is highly prized by collectors. Patent number 41,995 issued to Henry Wheaton Hewet and granted on March 22, 1864. Classified as a spanner wrench with adjustable jaws. Manufactured by WL Miller and Fowle & Company, both of NY New York. An advertisement appears in Wilson’s Business Directory of 1865 as Hewet’s Patent Wrench under the heading “screw wrenches” and listing William Miller, 479 First Ave, New York.
