Park Metalware Excelite

Park Metalware was formed in Orchard Park, New York in 1921 by F Birney Farrington. Metalware was originally two words. Other names associated with the company are John A Zillox and J Petre or Petrie. The first product was a bicycle wrench patent number 1,386,217. Plastic handle screwdrivers came later under the Excelite brand. Electronics people were referring to the tools by their brand name. This led to renaming the company Excelite in 1952. Excelite was sold to Cooper Industries in 1973.
