The Sandusky Tool Company was a large manufacturer of carpenter’s planes and plane irons. Allen, Dorsey, and Tenney took over a small foundry in 1868. This became the Sandusky Tool Company in 1869. Sandusky became the largest manufacturer of plane irons in the United States. The company was sold to American Fork & Hoe in 1926. They closed in 1931.
