Shelton Plane & Tool Company

The company began in 1862 as the Shelton Basket Company in Columbia, Connecticut. Abraham Lavietes bought the company in 1910 and moved the company to Shelton, Connecticut. Cornelius McAller was largely responsible for the plane and tool division. McAller received plane patents 1,914,609 and 1,929,504 that were used by the company.
