Strieby & Foote

Henry M Strieby and William S Ward both worked for H D Smith which produced Perfect Handle tools. The two founded drop forging company Strieby & Ward in 1879. The Newark, New Jersey company manufactured forgings for carriages. Foote returned to H D Smith after five years. The name changed to H M Strieby & Company. J M Foote became associated with the company at this time. Incorporation was in 1895, a year after Henry’s death. The company was now Strieby & Foote. It appears the company was dissolved between 1926 and 1934.
